Being born in South Korea, I grew up eating Korean and other types of Asian food as part of my staple diet. Because of this, I am a HUGE fan of Asian food and after going vegan, I've discovered so many ways of incorporating those delicious Asian-inspired flavours into plant-based meals.
Many people questioned me when I decided to go vegan, asking how this was possible, given my Korean background. I, myself, worried that I was losing a part of my culture and identity and I struggled (in the beginning) with the idea that I might not be able to have the same types of foods as I used to. Thankfully, that turned out to be not the case! I found out (to my lovely surprise) that with just a bit of tweaking, we can still recreate those same delicious Asian flavours using plant-based ingredients. I now believe that Asian food is some of the easiest (and most delicious) to veganize (okay, I'm biased, but I'm sticking with this belief!).
This is why I'm so excited to bring you this eBook that is so near and dear to my heart. I want to bust the myth that veganism is not for Asians and I want to show people that cooking Asian or Asian inspired food does not have to be difficult.
